Sunshine Boys ©

A recent pastel painting, sourced from a black-and-white photograph I shot about 50 years ago in or around my hometown of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. These three boys, hard at work on their tans, were originally photographed for an art class at nearby Wilkes College. The original is about 15" x 22", rendered on a sheet of Canson Mi-Teintes Velvet, Moonstone color. Soft pastels used include Rembrandt. Hard pastels used are primarily NuPastel with some detail work done with CarbOthello pastel pencils.
